Qualcuno si sarà chiesto che fine avesse fatto ERD Commander da quando SYsinternals è stata acquisita da Microsoft. Beh, la buona notizia è che ERD Commander sta bene. La cattiva notizia è che è disponibile solo ai grandi clienti che abbiano aderito alla licenza Software Assurance. Erd Coomander sarà parte del MODP (Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack) al cui interno ci sarà il Microsoft Diagnostic and Recovery Toolset (DaRT) 6.0 che contiene appunto l'ERD commander ed il Crash Analysis Wizard.
Il Crash Analysis Wizard permetterà di decifrare i dump di Vista generati in caso di errore. ERD Commander invece conterrà tutti i tools che conoscevamo per eseguire una analisi e ripristino di un computer con problemi:

• Disk Wipe
• Explorer
• File Restore
• Hotfix Uninstall
• Locksmith
• Registry Editor
• Solution Wizard

Some of you has been wondering what is happened to ERD commander since the Microsoft's  Sysinternal acquisition. Well, the good news is that ERD Commander is alive and well. The bad news is that will be available only through a special license agreement, the Software Assurance. Erd commander will be part of the MODP ( Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack ) that is available only for large enterprises that subscribe the Software Assurance license. Inside MODP you can find Microsoft Diagnostic and Recovery Toolset (DaRT) 6.0 that contains all the tools you need to check and diagnose computer problem.

Inside DaRT there are two applications: Crash Analysis Wizard and ERD commander . With Crash Analysys Wizard you can analyze the .dmp files created when Vista crashes. Erd Commander, instead, is the complete set of tools that many of you was using in the past. Inside ERD Commander there are several applications:

• Crash Analyzer
• Disk Commander
• Disk Wipe
• Explorer
• File Restore
• Hotfix Uninstall
• Locksmith
• Registry Editor
• Solution Wizard
• Standalone System Sweeper
