Come riportato dal seguente You cannot connect to a Cisco ASA Series VPN server by using an L2TP/IPsec-based VPN connection in Windows Vista non è possibile connettersi ad un Cisco ASA Series VPN server tramite una VPN usando L2TP/IPsec da un comnputer con Windows Vista se un altro computer con Windows Vista è già conneso all VPN tramite L2TP/IPsec. Questo problema non accadeva in Windows XP e Windows 2003. Ciò avviene a causa delle modifiche apportate in Vista per aumentare la sicurezza, per i dettagli si veda l'artcolo.
Per risolvere il problea è possibile utilizzare client VPN di terze parti a riguardo si veda il seguente Windows Vista-compatible third-party virtual private network (VPN) client schedules che fornisce un elenco di client VPN per Vista a cui aggiungerei anche Shrew Soft VPN Client.
